Hello,
I’m Nate, and I currently live in Helsinki, where I lead the Player Experience (Trust & Safety, Player Support, and Localisation) group at Supercell (we make some cool games you’ve maybe heard of: Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, and more).
I helped launch a virtual world for kids many years ago called Club Penguin. Between then and now (and a little before), I’ve had the opportunity to work for some fantastic companies; like Starbucks, Disney, Facebook, Tiny Speck, Two Hat, and more! I’ve also attended university for an MSc in Cybercrime and Digital Investigations, which allowed me to focus on theory and research methodology.
As a side note, I think these are two really great reasons (theory and research methodology) to spend time at a college or university. At least for my part, I received a lot more out of my university experience after having spent over a decade in the industry.
Along with my wife, we’ve raised 6 children and travelled the world, teaching our children along the way to be curious and compassionate.
This blog serves to share my thoughts and learnings as I live and learn. You can find posts about business, digital civility, policy, coffee, online safety, writing, leadership, and many other human-y things.
If you’d like to get in touch, you can email me at hello@nathansawatzky.com. You can also find me on Twitter at @natesawatzky.
Peace,
Nate
